Mrs. Day was born at Knoxville, Iowa, and had lived in Des Moines for 30 years. She had been in ill health for five years. She is survived by her husband Claude, a son Harold, and a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Daniels, all of Des Moines; five sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dunn Funeral Home. Day, 72, of 1414 Royer Street died of a stroke Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville. There will be a private family service. The body will be cremated. Mr. Day was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He retired as a carpenter and had worked at the former Riverview Park. He was a member of the Union Park United Methodist Church, Union Park Masonic Lodge, Carpenters Union Local 106, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline, two sons, Tim and Tony, both of Des Moines; a sister Bernice Gates of St. Charles; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Musselman, 65, of 1639 Arlington Avenue, died at Mercy Hospital Tuesday as a result of a heart attack. He had been ill a week. Born in Meriden, Kansas, Musselman had lived at Topeka, Kansas, before coming to Des Moines 45 years ago. He was a member of the Des Moines Plasterers and Cement Finishers Union. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Dunn Funeral Home with burial in Glendale Cemetery. Musselman, 38, died Tuesday at her home 2719 S.W. Eighth Street, following a brief illness. Residing in Des Moines 19 years, she was an active member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and president of the Des Moines Plasterers Union Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband and three daughters, Lucille, Pauline, and Betty. Funeral services will be at Dunn’s Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. " Lucille G. Liddicoat, 71, of Liberty died of a heart ailment Saturday in Kansas City, Mo. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. today at Glenridge Cemetery here. Mrs. Liddicoat was born in Des Moines, where she lived all her life until moving here in 1987. She retired from Look Magazine in Des Moines. Surviving are a daughter, Dora Earp of Liberty; a son, Donald of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Brown of Des Moines and Pauline Galardi of Shenandoah; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. "Services for Monte A. Murphy, 74, of 3818 Carpenter Avenue will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Murphy died Monday at Veterans Hospital of complications following surgery. He was ill two weeks. Born in Knoxville, he was a Des Moines resident for 52 years. He was a retired Veterans Hospital operating engineer and a member of the Beaverdale Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife Lucy; two sons, William and John L., both of Des Moines; four daughters, Mrs. Colleen Stundins of Des Moines, Verlaine Murphy of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Marjorie Griffith of Omaha, and Mrs. Patricia Hood of Overland Park, Kansas; six sisters, Mrs. Ada Reed and Mrs. Harriet Bohner, both of Des Moines; Mrs. Mary Stillwell of West Des Moines; Mrs. Nora Wahl of Canoga Park, California, Mrs. Jessie Wilson of Waukee, and Mrs. Mildred Roark of Moraga, California; a brother, Henry Murphy of Denver, Colorado, and 12 grandchildren.
