Funeral services will be at Hamilton’s Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Mr. Green died of a stroke after about a five month illness. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and lived in Des Moines for 75 years and was a retired millwright and member of Carpenter Local Union 106. He was survived by two sons, Othel Jr. and Kenneth R., both of Des Moines, and five daughters - June Green of Clarinda, Iowa; Mrs. Ferne Leiniger of Lutz, Florida; Mary Jane Lacovetti of Altoona, Pennsylvania; and Dorothy Newton and Mildred Kelder, both of Des Moines; also survived by a sister, Mrs. Allie Murphy of Des Moines, 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROSCOE "ROSS" K. GREEN JR. Born -- 1909 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa Died -- 1957 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa DES MOINES REGISTER, Unknown Date "Ross K. Green Funeral Is Set. Services for Ross K. Green, 48, of 2628 Des Moines St., who died of a gastric hemorrhage, Thursday at Mercy Hospital after a three-year illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Youngstown, Iowa. Mr. Green, who was a carpenter for the Des Moines public schools furniture shop, lived here all his life. He was graduated from East High School and was a member of Local 106 of the carpenters union and of Simpson Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow Mildred; two sons, Kenton of Des Moines and Crist of Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Dhabolt; two brothers, William M. and Dr. Don C.; a sister, Mrs. Harry Gaskell; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Green, all of Des Moines, and one grandson." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROSCOE MILLER GREEN Born -- April 22, 1887 in Little Rock, Arkansas Died -- July 20, 1962 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa DES MOINES REGISTER, Unknown Date "Roscoe Green, 75, Rites Monday. Services for Roscoe M. Green, 75, of 4925 Franklin Ave. will be 3 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Mr. Green died Friday at Iowa Methodist Hospital of cancer. He had been ill two years. Born in Little Rock, Ark., he lived in Des Moines 65 years. He was a pattern maker and machinist at Jaeger Manufacturing Co. 44 years until his retirement in 1952. He was a member of Carpenters Union 106, and of Simpson Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nellie; two sons, William M. of Des Moines and Dr. Don C. of Urbandale; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Gaskell; two brothers, Othel Green and Otis Balch, and a sister, Mrs. Allie Murphy, all of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
