Warren D. Roberts, 72, of Des Moines, and formerly of Maquoketa, died October 
19, 2012, at Des Moines, Iowa. Warren David Roberts was born on February 26, 
1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Gwilym ana Ethel (Bollard) Roberts. He grew up in 
Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1958. He then 
attended the University of Northern Iowa where he graduated with a Bachelor of 
Arts degree in Education. He married Roseann Larkey on February 18, 1967 in 
Maquoketa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2005. Upon graduation 
from college in 1963, Warren began a career in teaching, first in Wyoming, 
Iowa, then from 1966 until 2002 he taught business and accounting in 
Maquoketa. During his 39 years of teaching he was involved in FBLA, BBA, MOC 
anf AFS, mentoring and educating thousands of students. 
Warren was a member of St. Mark's Episcopel Church in Maquoketa. Those left to 
honor his memory include his daughters Lori (Chris) Knoebel of Des Moines and 
Sarah Roberts of Des Moines, four grandchildre, Brittan, Jaden, Moriah and 
Benjamin. He was preced in death by his parents, three brothers, William, 
Gordan and Richard Roberts, and his wife, Roseann. 
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
