Lewis Township Cemetery is located in section 16 of Lewis 
Township. ON the north side of County Road G 66, 
Southeast of Council Bluffs, where it intersects with 
Highway 275. Land transfers at the county auditors office 
lists the following: To Lewis Township by C. Plumer & 
Wife, 1 acre in SE 1/4 of NW 1/4, section 16, Township 74 
N, Range 43 W, dated 2 Mar 1883. More land has been added 
in recent years. 
This hillside cemetery is well kept and commands a view 
of the Missouri River bottom to the south. It is an 
active cemetery with a number of recent burials.
