He passes quietly away at 2:40 o'clock and when she returned five minutes later the man's eyes were set. Although nurses have been in constant attendance all day Christensen made no signs that he wished to give any message which would throw light on the mysterious shooting at his home two weeks ago and as the result of which he received the wounds which have caused his death. Dr. H.D. Kelly, police surgeon, who treated Christensen from the time of the shooting says the man seemed to have no desire to live and face the charges which would undoubtedly have been placed against him by the police. The fact that the man seemed to have no desire to live, the large amount of blood he lost when his injuries were inflicted, and the severe nature of his abdominal wound all combined to shorten his days, says the doctor. Christensen was shot when he answered a knock at the door of his home tuesday, March 8, he said. He told police at the time that he was the victim of a holdup, but authorities were forced to abandon this theory later whne a quantity of stolen furniture and six mail sacks were found in the man's house at 927 Avenue I. The bullet pierced the man's chest and traveling downward through the diaphram lodged in the upper intestines, inflicting a terrible internal wound and although Christensen is 60 years old his body hung onto live with the tenacity of youth in spite of the fact that the man's mind was undoubtedly set on death.
