Maquoketa Excesior, July 1, 1930
ATTEND UNCLE'S FUNERAL IN HARLAN, IOWA

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Evans and Miss Myrtle Blakely left Saturday evening for
Harlan, Iowa, to attend the funeral services of their uncle, George Evans, whose
death occurred Friday.

The deceased was at one time a resident of Maquoketa, but had been away from
here for 45 or more years. He is survived by his wife and eleven children, none
of whom live here, two sisters, Mrs. Maude Hall of Portsmouth and Mrs. Bertha
Johnson of Seattle, Washington, both of whom formerly lived here.
