WILSON, retired head of the College English department and a veteran teacher, died shortly after noon today at his home. He had been in failing health for several months. The veteran teacher was born August 4, 1876, in Logan, Iowa. He came to Pittsburg in 1921 and was head of the English department until he retired in 1935. Prior to coming to Pittsburg he was superintendent of schools at Stella, Neb., and traveled for the American Book Company, and then took over as head of the English department at Peru, Neb. He was a graduate of the Fremont Teachers College in Nebraska and later received degrees from the Peru College and the University of Lincoln. On August 19, 1903 he married Miss Kate E. HANSEN of Woodbine, Iowa, who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roy T. Heller of Pittsburg and Mrs. Ray Heady of Independence, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Crothers of El Cajon, Ca. and two brothers, Claude Wilson of Elko, Nev., and Orange Wilson of Hunt Hurdsfield, N.D. and three grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elder T.W. Bath will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.
