ROLFE.—Doctor Rolfe was born at Chelsea, Orange County, Vermont, September 8th, 1821. When twenty years of age determined to adopt the profession of medicine, and in 1845 graduated at Castleton Medical College, Vermont. Went to New York City, and for a time was junior Walker of the New York City hospital. In May 1847, went to Troup County, Georgia, and commenced the practice of his profession. In 1849 went to California, and remained there until December, 1835, when he returned to the States , and for a year visited Texas and Louisiana, returning to Vermont in 1854. In the Fall of that year came to Beloit, Wisconsin, where in 1855 he was married to Miss Mary J. Button, of Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 1856, after a short stop at Elkader, came to Stacyville, where he has since resided. In the Spring of 1857 his wife died, leaving one child, Alice M. In January, 1863, he married Miss Sarah M. Addington, of Stacyville. By his present wife has had two children, Paul and Edith. The Doctor is at present carrying on a large farm and practicing his profession.
