Vinton Eagle Newspaper, August 18, 1911
Alfred King, familiary known to Toledoites as Al King, committed suicide at 
Ft. Madison, last Friday.   He was a guard at the penitentiary and was 62 
years old.  Ill health and despondency are said to have led him to the rash 
act.  He used a knife in severing his jugular vein.  The death is a shock to 
the many acquaintances who knew him when he was marshal of Toledo--Democrat.
