Marie Ruth "Bee" Day was born in Arispe, Iowa on February 6, 1900 and passed
away on January 8, 1980 in Creston, Iowa. She was the daughter of Calvert R. and
Pearl [Hughes] Stoneburner. Spending her early years around Arispe, Shannon City
and Afton, Iowa. On March 6, 1919, she was united in marriage to Bryan Day of
Lorimor, Iowa. A life time resident of Union County, In the early 1920's she was
the telephone operator there in Lorimor.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Jean of Denver, Colo., Two sons., Lyle
of Denver, Colo., and Bryan Wesley of Elko, Nevada. Three sisters, Anna
Culbertson, Ruby Farrell. and Opal Louise Craven all of Los Angeles, California.
One brother, Bob Stoneburner of Wichita, Kansas. Five grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan and a infant son Max. Also by
her parents and one brother, Paul Stoneburner of Creston, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at the Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in Lorimor, Iowa at
10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 12, 1980. The Rev. Timothy Hohl
officiating.
Burial was in the Lorimor, Iowa cemetery.
