Everyting in the way of medical aid and tender care was given her but on Friday, Nov. 22 at 2:30 in the morning the battle bewteen life and death was over and the spirit of this good woman took its flight and winged its way to answer the final summons. The immediate cause of her death was infirmities common to advanced age. "Grandma McFee", as she was familiarly know, was a native of Peterborough, Canada. Isabella Webster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Webster was born in Otongba County, near Peterborough, on Jan. 31, 1848. She was 87 years, 10 months and 22 days old at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to Alexander McFee on Dec. 12, 1878, thus becoming mother to his family of children. They were Duncan, Peter, Hugh, Janet, John, George, Thomas, Mary, Ellen and Lizzie. All of these she saw grow to womanhood and manhood, establish their own homes and rear their families to love and respect her as mother and grandmother. Only two of this older family survive her. These are George McFee of Creston and Mrs. T. P. Reed of Greenfield. The younger members of Mrs. McFee's family, all of whom survive are Mrs. Hannah Schwab of Greenfield; James of Creston; Isaac of Creston, Albert of Creston and Bruce of Kent. One sister, Mrs. Jane Gratton still resides in Canada. In 1882 Mr. and Mrs. Alex McFee moved from their Canadian home to Kent settling on their farm two miles East of town. There she lived till 1913 when she moved to Kent, where the last years of her life was spent. Mrs. McFee has been a prominent and active church member all of her life. She early united with the Presbyterian church and was a member of that church until she moved to Kent when she changed her membership to the Methodist church. She was a faithful member of that church until her death. Mrs. McFee was recognized by everyone who knew her as being one of the highest types of motherhood. She has been a faithful and active Christian all the years and was richly prepared to answer the final summons and go to her reward. She was surrounded by a wide circle of friends who share with the family in mourning the loss of a devoted and loving mother. The funeral was held in the Kent Methodist Episcopal church and was one of the largest in the history of the community. This funeral was conducted by Rev. Ida Roberts, a former paster, assisted by Rev. Thomas, present pastor of that church. Those acting as pall bearers were Walter Riggs, Emery Kinser, Harry Worlsey, John Clem, Ray Mayers and Roy Mayers.
