He had been critically ill for more than a week... He had been taken to the Hospital about two weeks ago and submitted to a major operation, Dec. 12. His condition improved for several days before he suffered a relapse and his condition became worse. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church here on Tuesday with Rev Myron Hayes and the services will be in charge of the Elks Lodge. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. The body will remain at the McGregor Coen Funeral home until the hour of services... Paul Stoneburner was born at Arispe, February 10, 1898. He was the son of Calvert and Pearl Stoneburner. He came to Creston, Iowa in 1921 and was associated with Frank Flummer in the Iowana Hotel Barber Shop. In 1943 he purchased the shop and operated it until he became ill, two weeks ago. He was married in Creston, June 3, 1922 to Louetta Lyon who survives him. Also surviving are his Mother, three sisters and one brother in California. And a sister Marie Day of Lorimor, Iowa. Mr. Stoneburner was active in the Elks Lodge here and attended the National Elks Convention in New York City as a delegate of the local lodge in June. He was well known in the community and had a host of friends who will mourn his passing. His Barber shop was a gathering place for many of the business and professional men of the community. Services were conducted by the Rev. Myron E. Hayes, pastor of the Methodist church and was assisted by ________ of the Salvation Army and the services were in charge of the Creston Elks Lodge of which Mr. Stoneburner was Exaled Ruler. More than 65 members of the Elks Lodge attended in a body as did more than 30 employees of the Creston Telephone Company where Mrs. Stoneburner is employed as chief operator. During the services music was furnished by a Quartet composed of Charles E. Hill, Earl Anderson, Deane Smith and Duane Smith accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Ann Bratzell/ Casket Bearers were Gene Cozad, Harry Vetterick, N.I. Menzer, Dr. F.M.
