They are home to their friends on the grooms farm near Unionville. --Mr. and Mrs. Vard ROSS 84 and 75 years old voted last Tuesday and they neither had to wear glasses to make out their ballots. SOCIETY DREAMS --At 11:45 Sunday morning October 31, 1926 the marriage of Mr. Norman WAHL of Burlington and Miss Eunice LUDWIG of Blakesburg, was solemnized in the M. E. Church, Rev. A. F. LUDWIG, father of the bride, officiating. The bridal party entered the church while Miss Mabel SHANK beautifully rendered Lohengrin’s wedding march. The ring ceremony was used. The bride was beautifully attired in a dress of orchid taffeta and net with silver embroidery and carried a shower bouquet of roses. Those present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Philip WAHL, parents of the groom, Milton WAHL, a brother, and Misses Hazel and Hallie WALKER all of Burlington, and Wesley WAHL a brother, of Oskaloosa. Mrs. LUDWIG served a sumptuous dinner to which sixteen guests did ample justice. For the present the happy couple will make their home in Blakesburg where Mr. WAHL has employment. The church was crowded to it’s (sic) capacity to witness this beautiful ceremony. Friends of the bride had artistically decorated the church with ferns and chrysanthemums. SOCIETY DREAMS --The marriage of Miss Glee E. NOLAND, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank NOLAND, to Joseph L. THOMPSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. THOMPSON, took place Sunday evening at 6:30 o’clock at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. Luther W. CHILDS of Ottumwa. The couple were attended by Miss Corda NOLAND and Walter R. BARNES of Chariton. The bride work a dress of flesh georgette with lace trimmings and the bridesmaid wore blue taffeta trimmed in silver. Joe and Glee have grown up among us, are both graduates of our school in the classes of and and are among our most popular young folks, furthermore they will continue to live in our midst and everybody wished them happiness and prosperity in the new home they will institute as they start out on the journey of life together. --Misses Mildred LARSON and Freda CHIDESTER are planning on taking a course in Normal training at Cedar Falls during the winter months. --Russel BLAKE of Minneapolis has been visiting the home town this week. "Blakey" looks hearty and handsome as ever. --Marion HUNTER and wife and Mrs. Mary TORRENCE attended a family reunion at the Elmer PROCTOR home near Ash Grove Sunday. The reunion was given in honor of Elijah OWENS of Arkansas, who was visiting there. Quite a number of guests were present and a most enjoyable time was had. Mr. OWENS used to reside near Ash Grove and will be remembered by many of our older readers. --Mrs. Mary COFFMAN and daughter, Mrs. Laura LEIGHTON and daughter of Ottumwa and Asa KING of Hays, Kans., called at A. ASH GROVE --James HUFF of Independence, Kansas, is visiting relatives here --Orval WALKER will preach at the Christian church next Sunday morning and evening. PLEASANT HOME --Mr. and Mrs. Russell HARLAN, Miss Bertha DeLUNG and Forest KIRFMAN spent Saturday evening in Blakesburg. Rev. DeLUNG filled his regular appointment at Sherman Saturday and Sunday. --Mr. and Mrs. Charles HARLAN were Sunday evening visitors at Walter SCHOECH’s. --Miss Lula DeLUNG departed for Hedrick for a two weeks stay at the Mrs. Jessie McCLUNG home. FAIRVIEW --Norman WARD, wife and daughter, Margaret called at the parental home Sunday. OTHER NEWS --French WOLFE and wife departed last Wednesday for their Kansas home after a visit with relatives here. --Tom STAFFORD passed away at his home Sunday morning after a long illness --Edgar SHIELDS, wife and son Donald spent Sunday at Curg McCOY’s. --Herman JOHNSON and family were recent visitors at the parental SINCOX home. --Pearl ANDERSON returned from Ki(r?)ksville Mo, where he has visited a month and spent Sunday night at McCOY’s. He departed Monday for San Francisco California. --John STAFFORD of Des Moines and Martin STAFFORD of Chariton are at the parental STAFFORD home called here on account of their father’s death.
