Thurs. Sep 9, 1926 CELEBRATE THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING It was a merry crowd who were present at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John DAY, east of town in the Russel (sic) Chapel neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. DAY were married September 2, 1876, and quite a few were present who attended the wedding. The guests came to the golden wedding celebration just like they did fifty years ago, using Old Dobbin as motive hooked to farm wagons. Chairs were used as seats and the women folk held the family parasols. We understand Bert WILKINSON could not find seating capacity in his farm wagon, so he tied the top buggy to the wagon and landed his passengers at their destination without a mishap. The wagons loaded with families attracted as much attention as when Walter ABEGG used to stray off down in the Russell (sic) Chapel neighborhood with his one-cylinder auto.
