In 1853 she was united in marriage to Moses LOCKMAN and later they came to Iowa where they established a home. Seven children were born into this home, three dying in infancy, one son, James, died some two years ago. The husband and father preceded her in death many years ago. She passed away at the home of her son Estel Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock, age 88 years, 1 month and 7 days. Three children survive her, Mrs. Nancy Ann SSTOCKERr, William Estel and John R., all of the home vicinity. Mrs. LOCKMAN was a member of the Church of Christ and was always faithful to the cause and a regular attendant until the infirmities of old age made it impossible to do so; she was a good neighbor and a kind friend to all. The funeral services were held from the home Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. L. W. CHILDS of the Baptist church being in charge. Interment in the Sales cemetery. Thus another one of the pioneer mothers of early Iowa has gone to her reward after a long and useful life.
