Stocker succumbed to injuries sustained in an assault from a fellow employee at the Marine Corps Supply Center last July 9. A resident of Barstow for 11 years, he worked as a warehouseman at the Center for six years. the Iowa native served with the USMC during world War II as a gunnery sergeant. He resided in Barstow with his family at 36843 Lompoc Street. Survivors include the widow, Evelyn J. Stocker, a son John Carl Stocker, and a daughter, Jean Ann Stocker, all of Barstow; six brothers, Elmer and Ronald Stocker of Iowa, Floyd and Everett Stocker of Washington, Kenneth Stocker of Virginia and Glenn Stocker of Pennsylvania; and a sister who resides in Iowa. Services will be held here at Mead Mortuary at 2 PM tomorrow, Tuesday. The Rev. Aubrey R. Neal, protestant chaplain at the USMC Supply Center, will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Rosencrantz National Cemetery, Point (L?) San Diego, on Wednesday at 11:30am."
