Vlouise_@hotmail.com Wapello County Iowa Will Records Volume 3 page 279, 280 Last Will and Testament of Isaac Rogers I Isaac Rogers of the township of Highland in the county of Wapello State of Iowa do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret Jane Rogers my farm in Highland Township Wapello County Iowa during her natur= al life, or so long as she shall remain my widow, at her my said wifes death, or at her marriage, I give and bequeath my said farm as [illegible] Viz: To my daughter Rebecca E. Lantis I give and bequeath eighty acres of land to be taken off the northside of my said farm to be divided east and west. To my son Andrew J. Rogers I give and bequeath all the rest of my said farm containing one hundred and twenty acres. But it is to be distinctly understood that my said wife is to have the full use and control of my said farm during her life time or so long as she remains my widow at which time my said farm is to be divided between my two children in manner and form above stated. I give and bequeath to my said wife all my personal property that is to say I desire that she sell all my personal property and out of the pro= ceeds pay off all my debts, the remainder to be hers in her own right all sums of money hers to and given or advanced by me to either of my said children is hereby given to them. The reason that I give my son more than I do my daughter by this will is, I have given my daugh= ter more in the past than I have my said son, I appoint my wife Margaret Jane Rogers and my son Andrew J. Rogers executrix and executor of this my last will and testament and I desire that no bond be required of either of them. In witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my name this 12th day of December 1887. Isaac Rogers Signed and declared by the said Isaac Rogers in our presence as and for his last will and testament and we at his request, and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names hereunto as witnesses thereof Wade Kirkpatrick William Bane P O Highland Center Iowa State of Iowa} Wapello County} ss I J T Perdue clerk of the District Court in and for said County, do hereby certify that on this day at the march term A.D. 1888 of said court the will and instrument in writing hereunto [illegible] and bearing the date on the 12th day of December 1887 was [illegible] before and allowed by said court of and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of Isaac Rogers late of said County deceased and was by said court ordered to be recorded as such will and {seal} In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said court in my office in Ottumwa in said County this [illegible] day of March 1888 J.
