Vlouise_@hotmail.com LDS FHC microfilm 979672 Wapello County Iowa Will Records, Volume 3; Page 186, 187 Will of Othniel Speer Last Will & Testament } Othniel Speer } Will I Othniel Speer of Wapello County, State of Iowa being of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make, publish, and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all other wills by me ever made. First. It is my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and that there shall be appropriated from my estate and property in Iowa, the sum of one hundred and twenty-five dollars for a tombstone to be placed at the graves of myself and wife now deceased, with proper inscriptions thereon. Second. I will and bequeath all of my interest, be it much or little, in my deceased wife's estate now located and being in the state of Pennsylvania, and being interest in certain [land] it being my intention hereby to include, and interest in my deceased wife's estate, if I have any, as I suppose I have, to all my children, to wit: my sons Robert G, Alexander P., William P, and my daughters Mattie Mageors, Mary Brown, Maggie Failyer, and Sarah W. Riley, these to share and share alike in said property. Third. I will and bequeath all the remainder of my property being the property I now have in Iowa together with any additions or increase thereof between this time and my decease to my son, William P. Speer, for his own individual use and benefit. I make this distinction in his favor as a partial recognition for his many years care for me and my property and my deceased wife he having remained with us and given us the benefit of his service and labor ever since his majority. I also appoint my son, Wm P. Speer, executor of this my last will and testament and request that he be appointed by the court without being required to give any bonds. Witness my hand this 29th day of Sept 1892. Othniel Speer We the undersigned witnesses of the foregoing will state, that we signed the same at the request of Othniel Speer as witnesses thereto we signed he same in his presence and the presence of each other and we saw him sign said will and at the same time he declared the same to be his last will and testament. Hedrick, clerk of the D.C. in and for said county, do hereby certify that on this day at the January term, A.D. 1895, of said court the will and testament in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date on the 29th day of September, 1892, was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for said will and testament of the real and personal estate pf Othniel Speer, late of said county, deceased, and was by said court ordered to be recorded as such will and testament.
