Dale Atkinson Washington, Iowa M. Dale Atkinson of Washington, was born in Washington county, Ia., June 20, 1892. He is the son of Charles Atkinson and Laura A. Finley. He is married and his wife's maiden name was Cora Mabel Marsh. Army Record Corporal Atkinson entered the service March 20, 1916, as a member of Co. K, First Iowa Infantry. He was transferred to Co. K, 168th Infantry, 3rd Battalion, 42nd Divison, which trained at Camp Mills, N. Y. He landed overseas December 1, 1917, and took part in the Champagne-Marne Defensive, Aisne-Marne, St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensives. He was in the Army of Occupation in Germany from December 3, 1918 to March 31, 1919. He was discharged May 17, 1919, from Camp Dodge.
