This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 34 Roy T. Brown Kalona, Iowa Roy T. Brown of Kalona, was born at Bernadotte, Illinois, on June 3, 1888. He is the son of William T. Brown and Mary L. McCarty. He is a graduate of Iowa City Academy. Navy Record Second Class Mechanists Mate Brown entered the service July 2, 1918, at Minneapolis, Minn., in the U. S. Navy. He attended the Dunwoody Naval Training School, Minneapolis, from where he was discharged February 21, 1919.
