This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 33 J. Harold Buckley Washington, Iowa J. Harold Buckley of Washington, was born at Washington, Iowa, on May 22, 1894. He is the son of John D. Buckley and Mary Cross. He is a graduate of Washington High School. Army Record Corporal Buckley entered the service June 30, 1917, at Fort Sheridan, Ill., in Battery E, 149th Field Artillery, 42nd Division. He landed overseas November 1, 1917, and after training in France went into the Luneville Sector, L'esperance Sector, Champagne-Marne Defensive, Aisne-Marne Offensive, St. Mihiel Offensive and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He was wounded by shell fire March 21, 1918. He was discharged from Camp Grant, Ill., May 10, 1919.
