This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 38 Clement J. Eagle Washington, Iowa Clement J. Eagle of Washington, was born at Washington, Iowa, on July 14, 1893. He is the son of Henry S. Eagle and Thersea Schnoebelen. Army Record Private Eagle entered the service March 13, 1918, at Camp Greene, N. C., where he was assigned to Co. D, 39th Infantry, 4th Division. He landed overseas May 23, 1918, and was in action in the Vesle Sector, Aisne-Marne, Toulon Sector, St. Mihiel, and the Meuse-Argonne. Later he was in the Army of Occupation on the Rhine. He was discharged August 13, 1919.
