This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 29 Joseph A. Fletcher Crawfordsville, Iowa Joseph A. Fletcher of Crawfordsville, was born at Winfield, Iowa, on May 30, 1893. He was the son of John Townsend Fletcher and Carrie White. He was a graduate of the Crawfordsville High School. Army Record Private Fletcher entered the service July 22, 1918, was sent first to Camp Pike and later to Camp Merritt, fron where he was transferred to Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, N. J. He was discharged March 28, 1919. He was killed October 17, 1919, by the kick of a horse.
