Genkinger of Ainsworth, Rural Route 2, was born at Washington, Iowa, in 1897. He is the son of John H. Genkinger and Mary Noecker Genkinger. He is a graduate of Washington High School. Army Record Private Genkinger entered the service October 1, 1918, at Ames, Iowa, where he was a member of the Student Army Training Corps. He was discharged December 17, 1918.
