This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 37 Dewey C. Godlove Haskins, Iowa Dewey C. Godlove of Haskins, was born near Kalona, Iowa, on July 11, 1898. He is the son of John Godlove and Clara Dell Warner. He is a graduate of Washington (Iowa) business college. Army Record Corporal Godlove entered the service April 14, 1917, with Co. K, First Iowa Infantry. He was transferred to Co. K, 168th Infantry, 42nd Division at Camp Mills, N. Y. He landed overseas December 1, 1917, and went into training at Rimecourt, France, after which his unit took over the Baccarat Sector. He was wounded July 16, while in the Champagne-Marne Defensive and later was in action at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. He was discharged May 17, 1919 from Camp Dodge.
