Griffith of Washington, was born at Crawfordsville, Iowa, on August 12, 1892. He is the son of W. E. Griffith and Mary Strain. He is Married and his wife's maiden name was Lillis Teeter. Army Record Sergeant Leslie E. Griffith entered the service on August 18, 1917, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He took training at Camp Cody, where he was attached to A. R. D. 326, Quartermasters Corps. Later he was transferred to F. R. S. 361 at Camp Johnston, Florida, and finally to the 9th Company, 159th Depot Brigade, Camp Taylor, Kentucky. He was discharged January 3, 1919, at Camp Taylor. He Had also served with 1st Iowa on the Mexican border.
