This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 23 Bergie E. Larson Washington, Iowa Bergie Larson of R. R. No. 3, Washington, was born at Moline, Illinois, in 1897. He is the son of L. E. Larson and Hilma Engstrom. He is a graduate of Washington High School. Army Record Private Larson entered the service August 15, 1918, at Ames Iowa, where he was in the third training detachment at Iowa State College, in the mechanical branch of the service. Upon completing his course at Ames, he was sent on Oct. 31, 1918, to the Officers' Training School at Camp Grant, Illinois, from which he received his discharge November 30,1918.
