No. 5, was born in Washington county, Iowa, on November 21, 1898. He is the son of John Emerson Lemley and Martha Ward. Army Record Private Lemley entered the service October 1, 1918, in the Student Army Training Corps, of the State University of Iowa, at Iowa City, Iowa, at which place he was located when he received his discharge December 18, 1918.
