This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 39 Laurie A. Monson Noble, Iowa Raymond Monson of Noble, was born at Swedesburg, Iowa, on January 24, 1898. He is the son of C. A. Monson and Grace A. Conger. He is a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. Navy Record Seaman Second Class Monson entered the service December 15, 1918, at Des Moines and was sent to the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. He was assigned to the U. S. Destroyer Burrows which operates along the Atlantic coast. He was discharged in July, 1919.
