This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 17 Dayle S. Reeves Wellman, Iowa Dayle S. Reeves of Wellman, R. F. D. 4, was born in Cedar Township on January 6, 1896. He was the son of Alvin E. Reeves and Nellie Sterling. Army Record Private Reeves entered the service on May 28, 1918, at Washington, Iowa, Taking his first training at Camp Dodge. He was assigned to Battery C, Field Artillery, 88th Division, and sailed for overseas on August 17, 1918. He entered the mechanical training school at Clermont, France, and while at this work he contracted bronchial pneumonia from which he died on October 11, 1918.
