This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 34 Stanley H. Richards Ainsworth, Iowa Stanley H. Richards of Ainsworth, was born at Woodhull, Ill., on September 15, 1890. He is the son of Edward J. Richards and Mary L. Clay. Army Record Corporal Richards entered the service January 22, 1918, going to Fort Leavenworth Kansas, where he was assigned to the 409th Telegraph Battalion. He landed overseas June 19, 1918, and was stationed for a time at Bourges, France. He later took part in the Meuse-Argonne Drive. He was discharged April 26, 1919, from Camp Dodge.
