This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 32 Henry C. Snider Kalona, Iowa Henry C. Snider of Kalona, was born in Johnson County, Iowa, on June 28, 1894. He is the son of Logan C. Snider and Anna Ratzlaff. He is a graduate of Iowa City (Iowa) High School. Army Record Second Lieutenant Snider entered the service May 29, 1917, in the Ordnance Department and was sent first to Camp Cody, New Mexico. On May 31, 1918, he was transferred to Camp Hancock, Georgia, and entered Company A, Ordnance Machine Gun School, and on September 9, 1918 he was again transferred to Raritan Arsenal, New Jersey. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant October 5, 1918, Air- Craft Machine Gunner. He was mustered out of service March 4, 1919 at Washington, D. C.
