This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 16 Harry Thompson Riverside, Iowa Harry Thompson of Riverside, was born at Riverside, Iowa, January 6, 1897. He was the son of Grant Thompson and Eva Younkin. Army Record Seaman Harry Thompson entered the service July 22, 1918 at Cedar Rapids Iowa. He was sent to the Great Lakes Naval Training Station for training and was transferred to the Coxswains School August 16, 1918. He was taken ill with the Spanish Influenza which later developed into pneumonia causing his death September 23, 1918.
