This biography was copied from "Washington County in the World War", page 11 Charles Walton Riverside, Iowa Charles Walton of Riverside, was born at Wellman, Iowa, November 7, 1895. He was the son of Alpheus Walton and Mary Tracy. Army Record Private Walton entered the service April 29, 1918, at Camp Dodge. He was assigned to Co. E, 350th Infantry. He was transferred to Camp Travis, Texas, and trained there for several months. He was taken ill with the influenza about October 1, and died October 9, 1918.
