Wellman Advance, Thu, April 7, 1898
 Roy Gray died of pertinitus at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum 
Gray in Dayton Monday afternoon, after a few days of intense suffering. The 
burial took place Tuesday at the Wassonville cemetery.  Roy was about 18 years 
of age, honest, industrious, manly.  The father being enfeebled by disease, 
Roy was becoming the mainstay of the family. It seems sad that he should be 
stricken down just as he stepped out in the bright morning of manhood. The 
sorrowing family have our sympathy.
