He got badly hurt some years ago by a fall he had and it no doubt hastened his end. He was born in Madison County, Ohio, August 28, 1847 and came to Iowa at the age of six. They settled near Richmond where he grew up. He was married to Elizabeth Long, Sept. 4, 1871. Three children were born to them and they with the wife survive. They are Mrs. Howard White of West Chester, Mrs. Jennie Moore of this town and Calvin of Sterling, Ill. He also leaves a half sister, Mrs. Isabell Turnipseed and a half brother, Hiram Gray of Wellman, and a half brother, Anderson Gray of Oklahoma. He will be buried Wednesday at 2:30, his pastor Rev.
