He died of old age as he was nearly 87. He was born in Pennsylvania, but came to Iowa in an early day. He was one of the best known contractors of his time. He built nearly all of the old time buildings around the square and was knowwn as one of the most honest builders the town ever had. His wife died a few years ago. Five children survive him. They are Harry and Jim and Mrs. Dite Hesseltime, here. Mrs. Lizzie Murphy in Pennsylvania and Mrs. Sadie Rawhouser, of Columbus City. He was buried Sunday in the city cemetery, Rev.
