Wellman Advance  Thu July 10, 1930
  Anderson Turnipseed passed away at the county hospital in Washington Monday 
morning at 4:30. He was born in Washington county and lived almost all his 
life here. In his youth he was wed to Miss Alice Jones and they had one son, 
Aura. His wife passed away a few years after and he later married Miss Lizzie 
Shrader of Cedar Rapids. Less than two years later, she too, passed away, 
leaving him the care of an infant daughter, Dorothy. His mother, Isabelle 
Turnipseed, helped him raise the children. He is survived by his son Aura of 
West Libery, and daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Davis of Ames; also three sisters, 
Mrs. Jennie Griffith of California, Mrs. Maggie Hess of Texas and Mrs. Minnie 
Wellman, of Ceder Rapids; also one brother, Jim Turnipseed of Fairfield.
