Washington Evening Journal May 6, 1919
Mrs. Emma Wilson, aged 50 years, wife of James M. Wilson, died at the home one 
mile south of Washington yesterday evening about 8:30, after a long illness. 
For the last year and a half, she had been in poor health, but was not bedfast 
until she suffered an attack of the influenza last November, since when she 
had been confined to her bed most of the time. She suffered from cancer.  

Private funeral services will be held at the Woodford chapel Wednesday 
afternoon at two o'clock, in charge of the Rev. A.R. Oates, pastor of the 
Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at 
the chapel this evening or tomorrow afternoon when the casket will be opened.

Emma Wiederecht was born in Washington July 21, 1868, and was a daughter of 
Frederich and Catherine (Getts) Wiederecht. She was married August 15, 1886 to 
John Shrader, who died 18 years ago and two years later she was married to 
James Wilson. Besides the husband, she is survived by six daughters: Mrs. 
Maude Thatcher of the Prairie Flower neighborhood, Mrs. Luella Thompson of 
Kalona, Mrs. Abbie Bolt of Gila Bend, Ariz., Daisy Shrader and Flossie Shrader 
and Rosella Wilson, who live at home. Fred Shrader, a son, died last spring. 
There are also two sisters: Mrs. Eliza Wolverton of Fairfield, and Mrs. 
Corrina Veankleeck of Torrington, Wyo.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  She was a woman who was 
devoted to her home and children, giving her best for them.

Additional Comments:
The correct name of her sister is Corrina VanKleeck. Emma's middle name was 
Magdelena and she was called Maggie.
