 F. W. Anthon, of the firm of Tiedeman & Anthon, dealers in staple and fancv
groceries, cigars, tobacco, etc., established business in 1875. He was born in
Germany in 1836; came to America in 1857, and settled in Davenport. Ia.; removed
to Sioux City in 1870, and was for three years in charge of the Chicago Hotel.
