Carl S. Callaghan
SMITHLAND, Iowa - Carl S. Callaghan, 92, of Smithland died Thursday, Dec. 11, 
1997, in Sioux City, IA.

Mr. Callaghan was born Aug. 18, 1905, at home near Oto, Iowa, the son of 
Charles and Elizabeth (Weber) Callaghan. 
He married Virginia McClaran in 1928, in Nebraska. 

Survivors include his wife; two daughters; eight grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Minnie Eichhorn of 
Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl, and a sister, Jennie Claus.
