     Opal A. Christie, 83, of Quitman, Texas, formerly of Castana, died 
Thursday, April 10, 2003, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas.

    Opal Agnes Christie was born Nov. 19, 1919, in Castana, the daughter of 
George and Ruth Lillian (Gallup) Ultsch. 
She was united in marriage to Leonard LeRoy Christie on Nov. 4, 1942, in Yuma, 
Ariz.   Leonard passed away Nov. 11, 1989, in Burbank, CA

     Survivors include a son and his wife, Michael and Brenda Christie of Alba 
Texas; a grandson and his wife of Lomita, Calif.; and a granddaughter of 
LaCosta, Texas.

Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; and a 
sister, Illa Kendall.
