Douglas Dean Haugen, 56, of Gilmore, City, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Humboldt County Hospital of an apparent heart attack. The Rev. Haugen was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Leonard and Berenice (Gunderson) Haugen. He married Jaimee Matney on Aug. 18, 1967, in Sioux City. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Chemine and Scott Swanger of Bradgate, Iowa; a son, Paul of Watertown, S.D.; five grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Garcia of Omaha; father-in-law and mother-in- law, Harley and Vergean Matney of Dakota City; and three sisters-in-law, Pam Ostapoff of Sioux City, Chris Ramsey of West Des Moines and Shelly Bell of Dakota City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Don Garcia.
