Ellen A. Helms								1994

	Ellen Agnes Helms, 96, died Thursday, June 9, 1994, at Pleasant View 
Nursing Home in Whiting, Iowa.
	Mrs. Helms was born October 29, 1897, in Lakeport Township, between 
Sloan and Salix, near the Missouri River, the daughter of Ellis and Ada 
(Edwards) Copple.  In 1922 she married Glen Hughes.  Five children were born 
to this union.  In May 1942, she married John H. Helms in Onawa
	Survivors include one son of Lincoln, NE, three brothers, Francis 
Copple of McAllen, TX, Jesse Copple and Ira Copple, both of Sloan, four 
sisters, Edith Adams, and Ethel Johnson, both of Sloan, Evelyn Dean of Sioux 
City, and Eleanor Choquette of Salix, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 
and 4 great great grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, 
Margaret Rebhuhn and Frances Mackey, two infant sons, Merle Milton, and Glen, 
Jr., one sister, Edna Bouvia, and three brothers, Henry, Lloyd, and Ray Copple.
