	The Rev. John Arthur Nye, 80,  died Monday, Aug. 12, 1991, at Moville, 
IA. 
	
	He was born July 3, 1911, near Agency, the son of William Dudley and 
Ella (Lawson) Nye.  
	
	He married Lois West Sept. 2, 1940, in Loda, Ill.  She died Sept. 7, 
1971.  He married Miriam H. Baker Dec. 25, 1973, at the farm home near Moville.
	
	Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. James W. (Mary) 
Morris of Roark, Ky., Mrs. Ella Lass of Des Moines and Mrs. Robert (Hazel) 
Beckerbauer of Hartington, Neb.; two stepsons, Kent Baker of Honolulu, Hawaii, 
and Dale Baker of Lincoln, Neb., nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 
and his mother-in-law, Mrs. H.B. Hawthorn of Sioux City.
	He was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred W. Nye.
