Sioux City Journal, 26th: Divorced one day; married the next.
This is the unusual record made by Mrs. Agnes Lake, who for
some time has made her home with her father at Salix, Iowa.
On Tuesday Mrs. Lake was granted legal separation  from
Rawleigh Thomas Lake on the ground of desertion. Yesterday
morning she was married to Ray Mansfield of Winnebago, Neb.
by Justice H. W. Pitkin. The story of Mrs. Lake's first 
marriage and the trials she went throug during the months
following is a touching one. According to her version, it
was mostly through the solicitations of the parents of her
husband that she consented to marry. They lived near Denver,
Colo., and promised her a good home. The honeymoon was
hardly over, she claims, before her husband sent her back
to Iowa on a pretext of having her visit her parents. When
she was ready to return to Colorado, she wrote her husband,
but claims she received no reply. Shortly after this her
child was born, and since she has been living in Sioux City
a part of the time and sometimes at the home of her father.
The judge gave her permission to remarry immediatly when
hed granted the divorce. Tuesday. Mr. Mansfield knew his
bride before she married Lake.
