OBITUARY: Amund (Amos) Bergo, Worth County, Iowa Amund (Amos) Bergo [1877-1934] AMUND (Amos) BERGO died July 20, 1934. He was the son of O.T. and Ragnhild Bergo, former residents of Bristol Twp. He died in a Los Angeles, CA hospital of a stroke. His remains were brought here for a funeral and burial at Sion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. H. Rosenqvist officiating. He is survived by his wife, son Thomas of CA; daughter Ruby from ND; his aged mother; four brothers and three sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Bergo visited Lake Mills on a motor trip a year ago. He was born June 12, 1877 on the old Bergo homestead in Bristol Twp. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Tosdal at Silver Lake Lutheran Church. He married Trena Ohnsager in May of 1898 at Northwood, ND where Mr. Bergo had worked in a store for some years. They later moved to Tagus, west of Minot, ND and had a store. In 1909 they moved to Donnybrook, ND where he bought a farm to work. They had two children: Mrs. Claude (Ruby Ocelia) Huff and Thomas Milton Bergo, Los Angeles, CA; and nine grandchildren. He had lived in California from 1923 and worked at various jobs. His brothers that survive are Knute, Oscar, Andrew and Henry and sisters: Mrs. Sam (Lena) Monson, Lake Mills and Mrs. Peter (P.I.)
