OBITUARY: Lawrence L. Cooper, Worth County, Iowa [Northwood Anchor Newspaper online - www.northwoodanchor.com - November 20, 2001] Lawrence L. Cooper Lawrence L. Cooper, 63, Manly, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City surrounded by his family. A funeral was Monday, Nov. 19, 2001 at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly, with the Rev. Robert Cumings officiating. Interment was at the Manly Cemetery. Lawrence was born April 17, 1938 in Mason City, the son of Glennys and Velma (Fitch) Cooper. He graduated from Manly High School in 1956 and drove bus for the school while he attended. Lawrence lived on his family farm northeast of Manly all his life. Over the years he worked at several businesses including, the Sugar Beet, L.R. Falk Construction in St. Ansgar, and as a welder for David Manufacturing. He also farmed, but primarily Lawrence was a truck driver who drove for Mitchell Transport, McDonalds, and Yohn Ready Mix over many years. Most recently he worked at Winnebago Industries and Cycle Sat., before taking early retirement in 1996. Lawrence enjoyed farming, trucking, and planes. He owned his own plane and was a former member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Lawrence is survived by his son, Doug Cooper and Tracie, of Manly, his daughter, Lori Cooper and Mike, of Mason City, five grandchildren, Shelly Drilin of Bjugen, Norway, Brandie, and Jessie Cooper of Manly, and Lacy and Jacob Cooper of Mason City, a special friend, Sharon Hrubetz of Mason City, and several other relatives and friends.
