OBITUARY: Leone F. Gaskill, Worth County, Iowa [ Mason City Globe Gazette Online Obituaries ] Sunday, May 2, 1999 LEONE FLORENCE GASKILL NORTHWOOD - Leone Florence Gaskill, 81, of rural Northwood, died Thursday (April 29, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, rural Joice, with the Rev. Elwin Walvatne officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to service time on Monday at the church. Conner Colonial Chapel, 99 11th St. S., Northwood, is in charge of the arrangements. Leone Florence Gaskill was born on Oct. 14, 1917, in rural Joice, the daughter of Squire and Laura (Crowell) Parker. She attended and received her education in the rural country school in Joice, graduating from Fertile High School in 1935. She also attended Northwestern Bible College for two years in Minneapolis, Minn. She was united in marriage to Donald Gaskill on March 16, 1939, in rural Joice. After their marriage, together they farmed in rural Joice, Hanlontown, and rural Northwood. She enjoyed sewing, stitching, flowers, gardening, cooking and canning, but her great love and enjoyment was her husband, family and grandchildren. She was a Baptist by faith. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Donald Gaskill, of rural Northwood; six children, Phyllis Hrubetz of Mason City, David Gaskill and Wayne Gaskill of Adams, Minn., Mike Gaskill and his wife, Deb, of Lake Mills, Ray Gaskill of Northwood, and Bob Gaskill and his wife, Terry, of Marshalltown; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Beaulieu of Bemidji, Minn.; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sets of twin siblings who died in infancy; another brother, Warren Clifford Parker; two grandchildren, Jedd and Mike Gaskill; and a son-in-law, David Hrubetz.
