OBITUARY: Ellen Hengesteg, Worth County, Iowa


Ellen Hengesteg (78) died at her home in Hartland Twp. January 3, 1947.
She was born in Chicago, IL on October 22, 1868, baptized December 6,
1868 in Shell Rock Lutheran Church, Chicago and confirmed July 15, 1883
by Rev. H.B. Hustvedt.  She came in her early childhood to Hartland Twp.
with her parents, John and Ingeborg Johnson.  She married Andrew
Hengesteg March 30, 1889 at Silver Lake Church by Rev. N.E. Boe.  They
were parents of eight children:  3 boys and two girls (2 girls and a boy
are deceased), Nels A., Albert Lea, MN; Mrs. Oscar Egland, Hartland
Twp.; Mrs. Joe Sandkamp, Glenville; Mrs. Alice Sorlien, Northfield and
Elmer at home; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three
sisters, Mrs. Rugland and Mrs. Bakken of Hartland Twp. and Mrs. Nelson
of Northwood.
